Hi Folks,

Here my input for the next project meeting 14 March, or M(ar)CH. I would like to take lead in the programming of live music and entertainment. As this may have consequences for the buildup, e.g. noise management, proximity of drinks, food and stuff, I already aligned with Jeroen on planning tents. I also need to align with the power folks to get the cabling right. 

 

During the event, we have three tracks
One, two or three major acts, popular, spectacular. I will try to find external sponsoring for each act.
Every day one live band, representing a subgenre: popular among say 20% of the visitors, for which I will do some sort of survey among the participants. For example: ): gothic metal, jazz funk, electropop, chiptunes, garage punk, prog rock, Ukrainian hip hop or draaiorgel… My estimate is that bands like these will cost on average 1.000,-. Can this be financed from the general budget?
Jam session. During the day, we have a tent with back line (drums, amplifiers, some simple instruments) where anyone can join a jam session. The best songs will go on a set list, which we will play during the every, at a set time. Cost: just the tent and PA, I will bring the drum kit.
Visuals. The musical entertainment can be accompanied by images: VJs, video art or just an old movi.
